Valentine’s day is a great opportunity to express your appreciation for and spend time with the people you most care about. However, it can be stressful if you are planning to get a gift for a certain person(s) and just can’t come up with something that you are certain they will enjoy.

The good news is that there are many creative gift ideas that you can personalize and that will get big smiles from your valentine.

First of all, handmade gifts are perfect if you want to add your own heartfelt touch to your gift. Baked treats, like peanut butter blossoms, are easy to make and can be made in large quantities to give to all of your favorite people.

To make peanut butter blossoms, simply bake peanut butter cookies and press a hershey kiss into the center of each one right after you take them out of the oven.

Another homemade gift that your loved one is sure to enjoy is a surprise gift box. To make this unique gift box, gather two boxes, and make sure that one can fit inside the other with some extra room. Cut each of the four corners of the smaller box so that it can lay flat, then cover it in decorative paper.

For a personal touch, you can also add pictures to each of the four inner sides of the smaller box. Next, place easter grass or tissue paper in both boxes, then add small gifts like candy, leaving the center of the smaller box for the main gift (money, gift card, jewelry, etc.)

While your valentine will definitely appreciate a material gift, they might especially enjoy tickets/plans for an experience.

As COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted over time, more bands have gone back on the (non virtual) stage. If your loved one is a music lover, you can check to see if any of their favorite artists will be playing in town in the next several months.

An easier option for this type of gift is to take your valentine out to a movie. Maybe throw in some candy and popcorn with the tickets for an added surprise.

A cliche yet timeless gift for friends, family, and significant others alike is flowers. To make the gift last longer, consider buying a potted plant for them to see the blooms over and over again. Succulents are also a great gift idea for anyone, because they can be cheap and are very low maintenance.

Lastly, despite all of the possible gifts that you can give, nothing beats a heartfelt note, or even just telling your favorite people how much they mean to you. There is no greater way to celebrate this holiday than by making sure the people in your life know that they are loved.

Spend time with those closest to you this Valentine’s, and remember how priceless great people are every day of the year.
